Title |
A Comparative Study Concerning the Conception on Tradition of Tange Kenzo, Yoshimura Junzo and Kim, Swoo-Geun. |
Abstract |
To compare with the interpretation of tradition in the Koreanand Japanese contemporary architecture, we choose three architects, Tange Kenzo, Yoshimura Junzo, and Kim Swoo-Geun. In them we can find some typique attitudes to reconciliate indigenous architecture with modern architecture. TangeKenzo proposes un universal and relative paradigme about the creation of tradition, putting the Japanese architecture and occidnetal architecture on the same level. Yoshimura Junzo takes a serious view of humain sensibility percieved in a space. And he try to realize this in japanese style. After, during the stay in Japan for ten years, Kim Swoo-Geun had been simultaneously influenced by Tange's and Yoshimura's conception of tradition, returned in Korea, he established his own conception of tradition under the direction of Choi Sun-Woo. The comparison of their conception of tradition shows clearly the cultural difference and commonness between Korea and Japan. |
