Yearly Variation of the Energy and Water Use of Office Buildings |
| Abstract |
The energy and water use of office buildings every five years for 30 years between 1960 and 1990 have been investigated. The relation of energy, water consumption and the social situation has been analyzed. The surbeyed cases are 84 office buildings in Marunouchi that is the representative business area in Japan. The energy consumption was decreased in 1975 and 1980 because of the oil shock. However, the energy consumption was increased because intelligent buildings had been constructed from 1982. The water consumption that is different from the energy consumption was decreased with year. In this chapter, yearly variation of energy and water use of office buildings has been quantified. The electric consumption increases significantly. |
