Hysteretic Behaviour of Concrete Structural Elements in Flexure |
Abstract |
The sectional analysis procedure was provided which is able to predict the hysteretic behaviour as well as the deformation and strength capacities of structural elements in flexure such as columns, walls, piles and piers. For its development, the mathematical stress-strain relationships for materials, the definitions of the yield and ultimate moments and curvatures, and the algorithms for the overall analysis are basically required. The present study adopts the concrete model proposed by Mander et. al. accounting for the effect of confinement for various types of transverse reinforcement in a unified manner, and the Layer-By-Layer method recognized as one of the most powerful numerical approaches in this kind.An analysis program CYFLEX(Cyclic Behaviour in Flexure) incoporating the procedure given above was presented, then the predictions were made and compared with available test results of shear walls for the verification of its effectiveness. Although the limited test results have been reconciled so far, CYFLEX can be used as a fundamental analytical tool to predict the hysteretic behaviour of general structural elements in flexeure. |
