An Experimental Study on the Alkali-Aggregate Reaction of Mine Waste Aggregate |
Abstract |
The use of the mine waste as the aggregated of concrete is very important in the shortage of aggregate resource. Therefore, this study is aimed to analyzing for alkali-aggregate reaction possibility when mine waste aggregate in Chung-Buk area is used on concrete, through the mineralogy analysis, the chemical analysis and the mortar-bar method. From the X-ray diffraction analysis, the Japanese aggregate combining a quartz: appearanced to be tridymite and christobalite, alkali reaction mineral. But, the mine waste in Chung-Buk area did not show any those ingredient. Only, in the muscovite, anthracite, quartzite, lead, silver, tungsten, and iron very little amount of dolomite is appeared. Also, from chemical and mortar bar method, the Japanese aggregate appears noxiousness, but mine waste is not. Some of mine waste in Chung-Buk area be will noxious when alkali amount is highly increased. |
