A Study on the Development of the Cost Forecasting Method for the Multi-story Office Building |
| Abstract |
Cost estimation is the most important work in the cost planning of the buildings since the owner and designer should forecast relatively accurate budget at each design phase, particularly at early stage.The purpose of this study is to develop the cost forecasting method for the multi-story office building in the incipient project planning stage.After collecting the cost data rearranged from the already executed project and statistically extracting the cost information and the cost decision factors for making the construction cost, reseachers followed the statistical analysis in order to obtain the skelton material quantity per unit area (m2) and the standard cost weight for the construction cost by work trade.As the result of implementing the model to confirm the validity of the cost forecasting method developed in this study, 5.5 percentage difference were observed in total construction cost, which would be considered comparatively exact results at the planning stage. |
