Title |
Determining Configuration Factors and Luminance Values by a Digital Image Processing Technique |
Abstract |
This paper describes the development and calibration methods of a video-based full-field luminnace mappng system that can be used to determine the configuration factors and lunimance values of a luminous environment. The system consists of an image-capture hardware system and a group of customized digital image-processing programs. The full-field luninance mapping system demonstrated useful features in determining not only geometric parameters such as configuration factors and solid-angles of openings and the sky factors of arbitrary-shape sky areas, but also photometric parameters such as luminance and illuminance values of openings and interior surfaces. |
