Abstract For the stress analysis of a prismatic steel beam with partially restrained connections, Timosheko's restraint factor, (@=A,B),is combined with Kinney's fixity factor, f@.In stress analysis of a flexural member one needs to know the end moments and deflection equation. In this paper, end moments and deflection equation of fixity factor, f@. If one follows "strength ctiterion" for steel beam design, economic beam design is possible by adjusting fixity factors at both ends.
