Abstract In recent years, researchers and practicing have given considerable attention to alternative approaches to project delivery, such as Design-Build, Parthering, Constructability, and the Combination of these. Each of these approaches may improve a project's degree of integration by increasing the quality, quantity, and/or period of interaction between designers and builders. Project performance can be enhanced when interaction occurs on a regular basis, beginning early in the project, in an open, trusting environment. The purpose of this paper is to introduce above-mentioned alternative approaches as interaction-improvement methods, and to presesnt a prototype method for measuring the degree of interaction(DOI).The Analytic Hierarchy Process technique is applied weighting criteria for measuring DOI. Data from 25 recently completedpublic-sector projects in America are used because their records are available and consistent.
