A Study on the Environmental Evaluation of the Gardens in Secondary Schools |
Abstract |
The purpose of this study is firstly to find out user's environmental attitudes and behaviors in the gardens of secondary schools, secondly to establish a guide on the environmental design of the gardens in secondary schools.The environmental design evaluation was conducted by means of questionnaire survey of experience-attitude responses from students in Taejeon City and Jeonnam province. The five gardens are selected in secondary schools for the case study.The major results of this study are as follows: 1. In general, most students have an unsatisfactory feelings in the gardens of secondary schools.2. The major environmental elements that influence the user's satisfaction are "VARIETY OF TOPOGRAPHY", "AMOUNT OF NOISE", "AMOUNT OF SITTING", "DEGREE OF ENCLOSURE", "DEGREE OF PAVEMENT", "ARRANGEMENT OF GRASS AND PLANT", "AMOUNT OF SHADOW", "HARMONY WITH SURROUNDINGS" and "STRUCTURE OF SPACE". |
