Abstract Korean contemporary architecture have failed to confirm the universal value system. It is not a matter of mere contemporery architecture, but a matter of historic durability and intellectual firmmess.This paper aimed at architectural interpretation and theorization of Che-Yong thought in the point of contemporary philosophy. Che-Yong thought as Korean traditional thought composed of a woloe mind, the two gates and the three greatness. A whole mind means the realm of Buddhism. The two gates reflect true-like and life-extermination. And the three greatness means Che(noumenon), Yong(function) and Sang(phenoumenon). On the basis of Che-Yong thought, epistemological framework and methodological framework for architectural composition can be investigated.
