| Abstract |
The aim of this paper is to analyze the meaning of Louis Kahn's Room by examining the development of the concept Room and its properties. Through this study the meaning of Kahn's Room can be summarized as following: 1)the Room has its own character which is related to the meaning of place as well as the nature of space, 2)its character is fortified by its own light and struture, 3) Rooms are connected with one another in a way that their individual characteristics stand out. Among the connected Rooms there exists a hierarchy, and 4)the connecting elements also become Room. |
