| Abstract |
This study tries to propose a typological analysis of traditional urban housing in Seoul. Mass-production houses have followed, to some extent, the urbanization and functional differentiation.On the other hand, the failures of architectural development in Modern Movement urbanisam are seen in the light of the "Identity Crisis" of instrumental reason.General features of urban housing are following; In plan, a circulation path can be conceived as a link space of each rooms. The inner open space (called Ma-Dang) loses its characteristics of central force and is merely used as a functional linking-path. A ornamentation of structural materials in urban housing is the limits of modern housing typologies in the generation of urbanism; exchanging value of house and the need for diversification of types. |
