A Study on the Evolution of Traditional Urban House in NIGATA City of Japan |
Abstract |
In this paper, We study the location-conditions and the style change of urban house in NIGATA city of Japan. By classifying the plane shapes of urban house into vertical array, horizontal one, and kinked one, we analyze the mutual relationship between plane shape and section one. We find that horizontal and kinked type showed gradual decline, on the other hand vertical style got spread. Also we find that after SHOWA(1926-1989) Kingdom the middle-corridor type appeared as an urban house style and spread. |
