A Study on the Evolution of Traditional Farm House in NIGATA City of Japan |
| Abstract |
In this paper, We analyze the evolution of farm house in NIGATA city of Japan by field investigation data of historical building. We classify the plane shapes of farm house into forward-L type, backward-T one, and straight-line one, and investigate the relationship among them. We find that forward type had declined but backward one had spread, and after 1960s the straight-type spread as a new farm house style with kitchen area in the second floor. |
