Abstract This study investigates and analyzes the move pattern and the relation of workshop and residence of dwellers in six residential areas and detched house located in the outer region of Kwnagju-City through the questionnaire and the major results are as follows.1) In the motivation of move, the move into the current residential area from the downtown is due to economic condition, residential environment and commuting convenience in order, that into the current residential area from the outer region is due to economic condition, children's education and commuting convencience in order, so it shows the difference according to the previous residential areas, but common consideration is the commuting convenience.2)Many workshops are located in the same region as the residential area or its neighboring area, but the residents in 2-4km region from the radius of downtown are frequently found in outside 4km(47%) from the radius and those in 4-6km region from the radius of the downtown are frequently found in inside 4km(43%) from the radius.In addition, by the sphere, the case that workshop and residence are in the same sphere(56%), is more frequent than the case that they are in the opposite sphere(44%), but by commuting patters, over half of the residents in 2-4km(57%) and more than half of the residents in 4-6km(45%) commute to the opposite sphere through the downtown or the outer region.
