A Study on the Hysteretic Behaviors of Circular Steel Column Subjected to Axial Force and Bending Moment |
Abstract |
This paper is an experimental and analytical study to explore the ultimate strength and plastic deformation capacity of the beam-column members subjected to axial force and bending moment (monotonic and cyclic loading). The key parameters of this experimental study are as follows.(1)The selenderness ratios( );30,60,90.(2)The ratios of axial force(N/Ny);0.2,0.4,0.6(3)Monotonic loading vs. cyclic loading. The ultimate strength of the beam-column members subjected to axial force and bending moment(monotonic and cyclic loadings)is evaluated based on the axial force and bending moment(M-N) interaction curves. The behavior of each specimen is displayed in the form of moment-angle of moment relationship. The numerically obtained ultimate strength interaction curves of beam-columns show a reasonably good agreement with the available experimental results. |
