Abstract The overall purpose of this study is to contribute thesis of ancient history in Korean architecture by identifing combination technique of Kansals on multi-roofed buildings.Kansal structure of multi-roofed buildings is composed of collums arranged with Bo and Do-lee of span system in a builing with single room. Each Kansal in Da-po styles multi-roofed building lengthened based on the frame of roof construction. The length of Kansal in Toe-kan selected with parametrical size due to multi-roofed structural system. Multi-storied Kansals are combined into two ways. First, upper floor's Kansal structure is determined based on the Kansal structure of the lower floor. Second, upper floor's Kansal length in Toe-kan is controlled independently from the Toe-kan in lower floor.Combination of Kansals in Da-po styles multi-roofed buildings made based on frame which determined by bracket and roof construction system. This combination technique of Kansals can be alalogized as structural technology of ancient architecture for a plan of the structure.
