The Application of Analytical Models and Multi-Level Substructuring for Joint Analysis and Design of Coupled Wall Structural Systems |
Abstract |
This study presents the application method of analytical models and multi-level substructuring for joint analysis and design of frame-coupled wall structural systems. Several transition elements with three, four and six nodes are considered as analytical models and multi-level substructuring considering localized nonlinearity is applied to obtain the great saving effects in computational efforts. Also, the systematical approach by bottom-up and top-down process through the optimal connectivity trees is included within multi-level substructuring. In particular, various mesh gradings for transition zones in multi-story frame-coupled wall structural systems are provided to investigate the efficiency of transition elements and multi-level substructuring. |
