Utilization of Underground Space for Residents` Common Service Facilities in Apartment Housing Estates |
Abstract |
By the revision of building code and its subordinate laws related housing construction it is recommended to put the underground space to practical use for residents' common service facilities in apartment housing estates. This conduct means two different purpose; one is to meet the increasing needs of residents asking for various common spaces in housing estates, the other is to expand receptive capacity of parking lots in very limited boundary.The purpose of this paper is to suggest planning guidelines and to propose directions of revised enforcement regulations based on the findings in field survey for utilization of underground space for residents' common service facilities in apartment housing estates as a follow-up measures of changed conditions of housing construction. The specific objectives of this research and some findings are as follows;1) Suggestion for the kind of residents' common service facilities in underground space,2) Proposals for appropriate environmental standards and planning guidelines of these facilities in and between the underground space of apartment housing blocks,3) Abstraction of revised articles from housing related codes and laws for practical use of underground space in apartment housingestates |
