A Methodological Study of Knowledge Acquisition to Build Architectural Design Knowledge Base |
| Abstract |
The purpose of this research is (1)to propose the organization and the procedure of developing knowledge base system for the architectural design and (2)to develop the method of knowledge acquisition for architectural design knowledge based system. For developing effective architectural design knowledge base, a domain knowledge engineer is proposed for the new concept of knowledge engineer whose job is designing knowledge base and acquiring professional knowledge from the internal and external memory of domain expert(s). And the diagrammatic research is used to produce the procedure of developing knowledge base in the architectural design field. Developing method of knowledge acquisition is the second role of this research and documentary research method is used. The preceding researches of cognitive psychology of the architectural design as a concept of the knowledge engineering and other methods are introduced. There are several methods of knowledge acquisition for architectural design knowledge base, which are experimental method by protocol experiment, observation, interviews, treatises, corpora, result of previous design and on-line database by internet. |
