Abstract The motivation of this study is the current concern about the establishment of efficient transfer system for the Kyungbu High-speed Rail. The establishment of efficient transfer system is an essential factor of the construction of the Kyungbu High-speed Rail in order to maximize the utilization of high-speed rail and the convenience of passengers. In this regard, transfer system must be considered at the design stage of high-speed rail station. In other words, high-speed rail station design should include the transfer system such as the structure of transfer system and the kinds of transfer facilities and their appropriate scales. In this paper, the construction plan of the Kyungbu High-speed Rail was introduced focused on the expected number of high-speed rail passengers by seven stations and travel times among stations. Based on this paln, establishment of general transfer system structure was considered and necessary transfer facilities were suggested. In addition, appropriate scales of transfer facilities were suggested and their design directions were discussed.
