Boundary Element Analysis of Forced Vibration Problems in Thin Plates |
Abstract |
This paper presents a boundare element method for obtaining approximate solutions of forced vibration problems in thin plates. In order to eliminate the time-dependency, Laplace transform is applied to differential equation. The boundary integral equation in transformed space is formulated from the weighted residual equation and the fundamental solutions are shown in a closed form. In order to convert the transformed solutions to the ones in real space, Hosono's numerical Laplace inversion method is adopted. As numerical examples, circle and rectangular plates subjected concentrated and distributed loads are selected and the applicability of the method is demonstrated through the comparison with the exact and other solutions. |
