Abstract The difference between the construction informatinon classification systems used in Korea gave rise to so many difficulities in accumulation and interchange of information like construction technologies and research results. Furthermore, it become a considerable obstacle to hamper increasing of national competitives as well hoarding of information and caused overlapped investment. It is also necessary to standardineze the classification system prior to for the Computer-Integrated Construction and the various projects which manipulate the construction information. The objectives in this paper are to establish a unified construction information classification system for collecting and managing the scattered data and information effectively, which is applicable to the construction industry, academic field, research institute and governmental agency. The classification system suggested in this paper consists of five facets (Facility, Space, Element, Work, Resource), which covers all of the construction industry building, civil, plant and so forth. This paper also gives the application proposal for B.O.Q, Specification, and Filing system and suggests long-term plans, reformation of regulation systems and organization of corporation systems in Korea.
