Abstract In building structures, the perforated reinforced concrete beams for the passage of service ducts and pipings can minimize the story height and save considerable materials and construction costs.Twenty two reinforced concrete beams with two openings were tested in shear strength under two point loading conditions. The results of the experiments are as follows:1. It is desirable that the depth of squared and rectangular openings be under the 30% of the beam depth.2. Ultimate flexural strengths and deflections of squared opening beams were higher than rectangular ones.3. The ultimate shear strengths of the reinforced concerete neams with openings depends on the size of openings.
