Abstract Experimental studies on the column behavior of steel tubular column filled with high-strength concrete under eccentrically compressed load are presented in this paper. The strength of filled-concrete, specimen length-section depth ratio(L /D=4, 8, 12, 18, 24, 30) and magnitude of eccentricity(e=0.0cm,2.08cm,6.25cm,10.40cm) are taken as the main parameters. The objectives of this paper are to examine maximum load and the effects of concrete strength, and to compare high strength concrete-filled case with normal concrete-filled case.
