Abstract Nowadays, in Korea, most structural engineers use the structure analysis program ETABS for the dynamic analysis of building structures under the seismic load. High-rise building structures have very complicated geometries and many D.O.Fs. So the dynamic analysis of high-rise building is very difficult for these reasons. Although we are usingthe computer program ETABS for the 3-D dynamic analysis of building strutures, which uses a special modeling technique for reducing the D.O.Fs, we don't know the exact structure of this program. we can only guess the structure of this program from the Supper-ETABS program and other theories. So this study is associated with programming method for the 3-D dynamic analysis of building structures including slab diaphram action. And some theories and modeling techniques are strdied. And a possibility applying these modeling techniques to a practical program is studied.
