A Study on the Method of Environmental Design and User`s Visual Preference for the University Campus Environment |
| Abstract |
This study aimed to propose the evaluation method of environmental design which is forecasting user's visual quality for the university campus environment. This study was carried out through the four-step experiments. In this paper as first and second step of this study, the findings are as follows.1. The forth-three adjective phrases were extracted by the Repertory Grid Developmental Method, which were applicable to all buidings of the campus environment.2. The concrete phyical elements on the building were extracted.3. The eight psychological-factors were obtained by the Factor Analysis.4. The perceptual image on the twenty-seven experimental subjects were checked up through evaluating and analysis the factor scores of each subjects for each psychological-factor.5. By the Cluster Analysis, it was identified how the similarity of various characters in a building is mirrored on the user's psycological quantity and how building are grouped by it. |
