Abstract The purpose of this study is to provide an instrument of architectural programming in designing special schools.To this end, the children's activities, both academic and otherwise, at the special schools have been analyed, and their characteristics have been noted in relationship with the corresponding rooms.The findings may be summarized as follows :1) The modes of study activities are multivarious.2) A variety of classrooms are requiredAnd the characteristics of each group's life activities are analyzed.1) Many children have difficulty with excretion, eating and movement. the main reason for this is either their inability to recognize location due to their inadequate perceptual facilitics or their severely impeded physical mobility. A similar problem may occur with schizophreniccases.2) these phenomena are particularly serious at the lower elementary level, and among the emotionally disturbed, the custodial and the physically handicapped group.
