Structural Behavior of the Flexural Members Repaired by Composite Materials |
Abstract |
This paper presents the test data on the effect of Aramid Fiber Sheets (named "Power Sheets") and Carbon Fiber Sheets on ultimate strength, ductility, failure modes, structural deformations of flexural members with Power Sheets and Carbon Fiber Sheets on the tension face, respectively. To investigate the above contents, one specimen without Sheets, two specimens with Carbon Fiber Sheets and three specimens with Power Sheets were tested. Whe found the test result as follows. First, the flexural strength of the members repaired by Power Sheets and Carbon Fiber Sheets in increased. Second, the ductility of the members repaired by Power sheets is increased more than that by Carbon Fiber Sheets. Finally, increasing the Power Sheets-layer did not neccessarily improve the ductility and strength of the repaired flexural members. |
