Abstract Recently, growing concerns have been taken to safety and health improvement activities, but safety management activities in domestic construction industry remain in premodern state. The purpose of this paper is to reform the Danger Prediction Activity(DPA) as a tool for substantial improvement exertion to minimize calamities in construction work.Through analyzing QC and VE techniques, DPA, and Safety Assessment, Safety and Health Improvement(SHI) technique which has 3 main phases such as status-recognition phase, alternative-design/evaluation phase, and execution/follow-up phase, is proposed. In addition, the application plan of SHI technique is suggested to use this efficiently. In alternative-design step, Brainstorming, checklist, or Database can be used, and in alternative-evaluation step, quantitative and synthetical decision making can be made by using matrix evaluation method. And after verifying theefficacy of the alternatives, the practitioners can standardize the contents of them and make the databases for them, and those would be retrieved and used at alternative-design step in next improvement activities.
