| Abstract |
By the revision of Urban Planning Law in 1991, Micro Planning District Ststem, urban planning system and design guidances in district level, was substituted for urban design system and has been operated in Korea as practical policy-based tool for the purpose not only for promoting the totality of built environment in urban areas but for effective management of development process especially in new urbanizing districts. The new management sysem is proposed by the failure of current in urban design system during past ten years also has probability of problem-making in the view of effectiveness and practice. This paper, therefore, is intendedto propose a couple of clues for the management of new system in rder to be an effective means for managing built and social environment of urban development areas. This study concludes that Micro Planning District System would be considered as a new urban planning system in near future. |
