A Research on Architectural Space Planning Methodology Development |
| Abstract |
As is the case in architecture, space planning has attracted much attention in the study of design, whereas the core of many design teaks consists of the manipulation and composition of form. This paper first survey developments of space planning approaches in architecture, referring to quadratic assignment approach, graph theoretic approach, and rectangular dissection approach. It then discusses the limitations of current research and also directions for future space planning research in order to manage more complex problems. |
