Abstract In this paper, the properties of high strength concrete are described with respect to materials and mix conditions(water binder ratio, chemical admixture, replacement ratio of fly ash and silica fume, aggregate of kunsan). As primary purposes of this study, the optimum mix designmethod of high strength concrete is investigated. And, the properties of fresh and hardened concretes are tested in terms of slump flow, elapsed time, compressive strength, and hydration heat.As the results of this study, workability and strength gains of the high strength concrete depend on the water binder ratio, replacement ratio of fly ash and silica fume, and dosage of the chemical admixture. The high strength concrete from the proposed optimum mix design shows high workable slump of 20+-2cm without segregation, target strength of 480-715kg/cm2, low bleeding, and low hydration heat, Based on the results, the applicability of high strength concrete in site is clearly proved.
