| Abstract |
Cost estimating should be performed through both a construction decision process and an algorithmic(procedural) process, but most of existing cost estimating systems do not consider the decision process. As a result, the estimators, who do not have enough construction knowledge and experience, rely exclusively on the procedural process. Disregard of construction decision-making may cause large inaccuracies in cost esitmating.The purpose of this study is to propose a knowledege-based cost estimating model in which the construction decision process is incorporated. The model enables the estimators to compare and select the construction methods during the cost estimating process. |
