A Comparative Study on the Construction Management Systems and the Role of Construction Manager through the Analysis of the Standard From of Contract |
| Abstract |
Recently the Korean government announced that the construction management system would be introduced to the domestic construction industry. This system which has been utilized universally in the overseas construction market is expected to bring advancement to the industry. However, since the system is still new to us, the concept of construction management should be clearly understood to prevent possible confusion when it is applied to a real construction project. This study is to present clear definition of the construction management system including its contractual structure, roles of the construction manger and other participants, and the basic services of the construction manager. The differences on such items between two different types of construction management contract have also been investigated, based on the analysis of the Standard Form of Agreement between Owner and Construction Manager by Construction Management Association of America. |
