A Study on Optimal Design of Truss with Multiple Constraints |
Abstract |
This work presents an optimality criteria method to solve the structural optimization problem of trusses subject to deflection and stress constaints. This method, which is important to structural synthesis is developed based on a first-order approximation for deflectionand stress constraints using the method of vitrual work. Identifying active or inactive constraints is the key aspect in multiple constraint problem. The modified Gauss-Seidel iterative method is used. Expecially, designer should pay attention to assign the relaxation parameter in redesign algorithm. The design cost can be reduced by controlling the iterative speed and re-analysis iteration. This method works well accurately in the iterative speed and re-analysis iteration. |
