An Experimental Study on the Structural Characteristics of Web Opening Composite Beams based on Opening Size Ratios |
Abstract |
The use of web opening in composite section in steel structure beams lead to unacceptably large construction depth between storeys. Such openings are sometimes required to large, for example, with length of four or five times the opening height. In this paper, avaiable test results and theory relating to the ultimate strength and failure mode of solid slab beams, web opening composite beams are surveyed to examine the structural behaviors which performed with parameter such as opening depth is 50% of steel beam web depth. When we compare with analytical and experimental values of interaction diagram between moment and shear capacity were safed as it is scattered with outer- part of the analytical values and we found that strength and phenomenon of deformation in web opening composite beams were affected very much by vierendeel action along with opening size ratio increased. |
