But the types of our apartment plans are uniformed and fixed and giving limited alternatives for changing needs of residents. Under this background, the main purpose of this study is to suggest various plan-types regarding to the change of social, cultural, technical factors, and changing life-style. In this study, six types of new plan-types are developed, reviewed, and evaluated by potential residents. After this process, these plan-types are modified and suggested as new alternatives for future development of apartment plans. Following four plan-types are evaluated as highly expected ones by future residents: living-room-oriented type, kitchen-oriented type, outdoor-space-oriented type, and free-plan-oriented type. The overall scope of this study suggests that design research and architectural programming would be needed to identify diffrences in residents' needs and design factors to be made flexible |
