| Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of Le Corbusier on architect Kim Jung-up, specially during his stay in Le Corbusier's atelier. The analysis results are summarized as follows:1)for the architectural philosophy, Kim learned from Le Corbusier how to sublimate a regional tradition toward an universal architecture.2)in the grammar of composing architectural elements, wecan point out the juxtaposition, which is one of the most characteristic methods in the Le Corbusier's plastic composition. Like Le Corbusier, Kim used juxtaposition as a means of creating his works.3)in the architectural elements, we can indicate the useof roof in symbolic and formal aspects, the adoption of Le Modulor for systematizing the dimension of architectural elements and the use of brise-soleil and pan de verre. |
