Abstract Since the Ninety-sixties, the contemporary architecture is showing more complex and various styles. The Rationalism and Neorationalism co-exist in Europe such as Germany, France and Italy these days. In particular, the Neorationalism style architecture in Rome, Milan and Venice, Italy and Ticino, Swiss shows the extensive environmental realization which includes the human, architecture, city and the natural environment which is essences of the others, whereas the current design practice seems to lost the technological, ethical and cultural scale which should be the uppermost aim.Therefore, in this study, the background and character of the Pre-Second Word War rationalism which can be interpreted as the Fascism architecture are discussed. Also the relationship betten the Neorationalism architecture which is popular in the area of the Italian language influence and contemporary architecture is investigated.
