A Study on the Spatial Characteristics of Rural Houses |
Abstract |
This study intends to understand the spatial characteristics of rural houses which is built by the free-design in the latter half of 1980'.It has focused on, especially, the changes in the time series.The major findings are as followings;1)The life style which centered An-bang is changing into the that which centered living room by the settlement of living room.2)The kitchen is changing into space including dining by the emergence of L.DK and LDK type.3)The floor plan types of rural house is, for the most cases, based on the `3 by 2 grid'type.4)Gradually, the size of rural houses is increasing. The average size of free-design project houses showed 90m(27.2pyung). Then, An-bang size is 16.7m and living room size is 17.2m.5)Today, because of the space of main building alone to provide enough place to live for the household size, in most cases, A-rae-che(secondary building) is disappearing. But the size of Bu-sok-sa(storage space) is enlarging.6)Most of free-design project houses took the roof of concrete flat slab and the facade of red bricks.7)It is found that utility-room and underground-storage-room is building in the rural houses. |
