The Experimental Study on the Properties and Mixing Factor of Concrete with Crushed Stone Sand by Percentages of VFS Replacement |
Abstract |
This study is aimed for investigating the influence of Very Fine Sand(Finer thant 75um) of crushed stone sand on the properties of concrete. The tests were conducted on two series of concrete mix having a constant slump of 15+-1cm and a water-cement ratio of 54.5%, The mixes of each series incorporated with different percontages of VFS as a replacement for fine aggregate each cruched stone sand. The results indicated that the slump, air content and the water bleeding of concrete with crushed sand is generally decteased with increasing percontages of VFS replacement in the fine aggregate. For mix of concrete with constant slump and air content, the water demand increases rapidly with increasing percentages of VFS replacement. The compressive strength and tensile strength of concrete with crushed sand is generally higher than plain concrete with river sand without the percentages of VFS replacement and type of mixes. |
