A Study on the Cognition of Technology and Form in Malevich and Tatlin |
Abstract |
This study aims at estimating the architectural value of the cognition of technology and form in Malevich's Suprematism and Tatlin'sProductivism. We analysed that they had to obtain the same characters in essence in spite of their contrary basis of 'spirit' and 'material' and had the similar thoughts on the cognition of the world and the rules of form. However, Tatlin's form was a flexible system that had separate levels of practical use and art, which stood opposed in Malevich's Suprematism. And we concluded that both Malevich who negated 'formless value' of technology, and Tatlin who regarded 'Factura'as a concept of formalistic language system finally produced a sign system that substituted for their reality, and could not overcome the concept of representation. |
