A Study on the Energy Conservation Standard of Office Buildings |
Abstract |
The objective of this study is to present the TPI(Thermal PerformanceIndex) for the improvement of current BEPS(Buinding Energy Performance Standard), or EPI(Energy Performance Index). To present TPI, 14 basic design parameters related to building thermal performance were chosen. The Systems of Experimental Design which offers information about the main effect among the parameters with a few experiments was used to decrease the number to experiments. The load simulations were undertaken by the DOE-2 building energy analysis program and a database was established based on the 81 simulation results. The results are summarized as follows.1)TPI(Thermal Performance Index) sheet was presented with five selected significant variables, calculated weighting factors and distribution of marks. With TPI sheet, architects can easily evaluate building thermal performance without complicated calculations.2)To prove the degree of fit, TPI was compared with DOE-2 simulation results on 16 cases established by the Systems of Experimental Design. The medians of design parameter values in 81 simulation cases were used as input values in 16 cases. As a result, the coefficient of correlation between TPI and building's annual load wa -0.8405. This indicate that TPI model is appropriate and able to cover the whole ranges of design parameters. |
