Effect on Interface on the Properties of Fiber-Reinforced Cement Composite Prepared by Slurry Method |
Abstract |
Adhesion between fiber and cement matrix is essential for the performance of fiber-reinforced cement composite(FRC) prepared by slurry method. When there is no adhesion between them, it was impossible to apply slurry method for FRC because the cement sould flow out during filtration. In this study, various types of Polyacrylamide(PAM) were tested as coupling agents for the cement composite reinforced with polyvinylalcohol(PVA) fiber. PAM was found to be a effective coupling agent for the system of PVA fiber and cement. Moreover, Anionic PAM was more effective than cationic or nonionic PAM. It was notable that addition of aluminium salt enhances the coupling of cement to PVA fiber by improving dispersion of the fiber in the slurry state. Conclusively, the existence of coupling agent is a key factor for the preparation of FRC by slurry method. |
