Abstract In the early 20th century, the epochal change of advanced science had been brought under the influnce of Industrial Revolution in Italy, and the movement named Futurism had risen in the society where the way of life as well as that of thinking had been rapidly changing.Antonio Sant'Elia, a representative architect of Futurism, had proposed projects in the Future City. His projects in the Future City had arisen to make up the new period, for which all the past standards had been denied, new materials chosen, and the form which exalted the man's emotional aspects, such as a diagonal line or an oval, and the multi-leveled traffic network. However, the fact that A. Sant'Elia's works and Futurism became a turning point in the development of modern architectural theory is due to the theoretical characteristics and the spiritual manners rather than the formative or technical realization.
