A Study on the Full Scale Measurement and the Power Spectrum of Wind Loads on Middle Rise Building |
Abstract |
Full-scale measurement of wind load and wind induced response was performed for a 20 story building in Seoul. The normalized power spectra of wind velocity and fluctuating wind pressure were obtained from measured data. And fundamental natural frequencies from the power spectra of acceleration responses were compared with the values from computer based prediction.The shape of the power spectrum of fluctuating wind velocity follows the Von Karman well. Power spectrum of fluctuating wind pressure has its peak value in range of reduced frequency of 0.02 to 0.08. Measured natural frequencies from the building coincided with eigenvalue analysis within the deviation of 2% to 23%. |
