Abstract |
This study is an attempt to understand design through its presentation drawings, particularly its final renderings. In the study, the communicative function of presentation drawings as a system of signs, will be reviewed in order to acquire an intellectual groundwork for developing atheory of drawing. And the relationships and the similaritiesbetween the representational art of this century and architectural presentation drawings are to be carefully examined, based on their way of expression and communication.As a consequence, the study gains the knowledge that the importance of architectural renderings is often related to how far they veer from the prosaic illustration of a designto attain the level of art, carrying various and complex meanings, and that it is important to understand expressive qualities and influence on receivers. |
