A Study on the Development of Urban Residential Estates in Terms of Ecological Aspects |
| Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to advance a new direction for cities to take in order to combat environmental problems which have emerged as the most serious issue in this society. Now, the city should be treated as another element of nature, one which is indispensable to our lives. A city influences human beings as much as we influence it. Human beings are beginning to see the city from a different standpoint, and the concepts behind city environments are rapidly evolving.Bearing the intention of change in mind, for this study, the concept of an ecological viewpoint for the environment will be addressed. Cities in Europe in which ecological settlements have already been established as residential environments have set the new standards. From these cities, this discipline has acquired a wealth of materials and records to from a theoretical background.As a result, in this Age of Industrial Science, I am proposing useful materials and suggestion regarding the ecological city planning of Korean cities, by pre-estimating the characteristics of a city heading toward the Age of the new Ecological Environment. |
