Abstract |
This paper aims at understanding the Characteristic of Critical Conventionalism in Adolf Loos's Architecture. Through the analysis of his writings and works, especially 'Ornament and Crime', this paper investgates the critical view about the bourgeoisie Vienna. Loos realized the possibility of antiquity to criticize the trend of fetishism resulting from mechanical and technological progress in modern capitalism, and pursuited the architecture for the real art category. According to analysis, critical convetionalism was adopted to criticize bourgeosie dommercialism and its architecture, it reavels Adolf Loos's intentional architectural strategy. |
